Big roads, big mileages

North London is shaped by its main roads: the A406 North Circular, the M1 starting at Staples Corner, the A1 through Barnet, the A10 Great Cambridge Road up to the M25 at junction 25, and the A41 and A5 heading north-west. If you commute on any of them, your car will have more miles on it than average.

That doesn't put us off. We value a car on its history and condition as well as the number on the dash. A car with 140,000 miles and a stamped service book can be worth more than one with 80,000 and no records. Tell us what's been done and we'll take it into account.

ULEZ came late to most of this area

Until August 2023 the ULEZ stopped at the North Circular, so most of Barnet, Enfield and Harrow sat outside it. When it expanded to all of London, a lot of older petrol cars and pre-2015 diesels in these boroughs started paying the daily charge. Many households here have since sold a second car or an older one rather than keep paying. We buy compliant and non-compliant cars, and non-compliant ones still have a market outside London.

Match days and event days

Two of London's biggest stadiums are here. When there's an event at Wembley Stadium, roads close around it and the event day parking zone applies across a wide area. Tottenham Hotspur's stadium has its own match day restrictions on the streets around White Hart Lane. We check both calendars before booking, so we won't arrive when you can't get out of your road.

Collecting from your street

The suburbs here are mostly easy. Pinner, Stanmore, Mill Hill, Winchmore Hill and Grange Park are largely driveways and quiet roads. Harrow on the Hill has steep, narrow streets around the school, and parts of Highgate, Crouch End and Muswell Hill are hilly with on-street parking only. If your road is tight, mention it and we'll bring a suitable vehicle.

Closer in, Kilburn, Willesden, Wood Green and Tottenham are mostly permit zones and flats. Some newer blocks near Wembley Park and Edmonton Green have gated car parks. Give us the access details and we'll sort the rest.

Cars people sell us here

Estates and people carriers the children have outgrown. Commuter cars with big miles from the A10 and M25. Private hire hybrids. Low-mileage cars from older owners who've decided to stop driving, often with a full service history. Second cars from people in the new flats at Wembley Park who use the Jubilee and Metropolitan lines and barely drive.
