DSG gearboxes and cambelts
If your VW is an automatic with a wet-clutch DSG gearbox, it needs a fluid change at set intervals, often every 40,000 miles. Proof it's been done helps. On older TDI diesels, a cambelt change at the right time is another big plus.
Diesels caught up in the 2015 emissions recall should have had Volkswagen's software update. If you have paperwork for it, mention it.

GTI, R and electric models
Performance Golfs sell best when they're close to standard. If you've fitted aftermarket wheels or an exhaust and still have the originals, tell us. Including them can lift the price.
For ID models, tell us the battery size (for example 58 kWh or 77 kWh) and include both charging cables.
Handover checklist
Remove the car from the Volkswagen app and sign out of connected services on the screen. If your Golf or Polo has a factory sat nav that uses an SD card, leave it in the slot.
